HIGH POINT, N.C.—The No. 18/19 High Point University women's lacrosse team travels to Rock Hill, S.C., Wednesday night (April 18) to take on Winthrop. The Panthers (12-2, 5-0 Big South) can clinch the No. 1 seed for the Big South Tournament and at least a share of the conference regular season title with a win.

Quick Hitters
• High Point is 12-2 on the season and has won 11 games in a row after defeating Gardner-Webb, 22-3, on Saturday (April 14) at Vert Stadium. Senior Brooke Stevens tied her career high with 10 points on three goals and a career-high seven assists, while freshman Abby Hormes added five goals.
 
• Stevens leads the team with 66 points on 28 goals and a team-high 38 assists, which rank in a tie for the second-most in HPU single-season history. 
 
• Senior Erica Perrotta is second on the team with 57 points, 36 goals, 21 assists, 30 ground balls and third with 36 draw controls. She leads the Panthers with 32 caused turnovers, one shy of the single-season school record. Last week, Perrotta was added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
 
• Freshman Abby Hormes leads the Panthers with 44 goals, while redshirt-sophomore Meredith Chapman leads the squad with 31 ground balls. Junior Samantha Herman leads HPU with 41 draw controls.
 
• The Panthers rank third in the nation in scoring (16.43 goals per game) and fourth in scoring defense (8.21) and has the second-best scoring margin (+8.21). HPU has the fourth-longest win streak in the nation.
 
On the Eagles (11-4, 4-1 Big South)
Winthrop fell, 12-11, at Liberty on Saturday (April 14) for its first conference loss of the season, but had won 10 straight prior to the game. Nicole Beatson leads the Eagles with 67 goals and 82 points.
 
All-Time Series with Winthrop
This will be the ninth meeting between the two schools, with High Point leading the all-time series, 5-3. HPU won the first four meetings before Winthrop captured the next three. High Point was victorious in the latest meeting, 20-10, on April 5, 2017 at Vert Stadium.

The Panthers travel to Farmville, Va., on Saturday (April 14) to take on Longwood at 1 p.m. in the Big South regular season finale.
