Matt Hodges and women's lacrosse senior
Erica Perrotta have been named the Lindsay Properties HPU Student-Athletes of the Week for Feb. 26- Mar. 4.
Hodges appeared in two games for High Point, allowing one run in 5.2 innings of relief at No. 13 North Carolina and William & Mary. After tossing an inning against the Tar Heels on Tuesday, Hodges silenced W&M in game one of the team's doubleheader on Saturday. Pitching in relief, Hodges tossed 4.2 scoreless frames, striking out a season-best six in the process. The southpaw is third on the team (among qualifiers) with a 1.93 ERA in 9.1 innings on the mound this season.
Perrotta scored the overtime winner at Elon on Thursday night (March 1). The senior midfielder tied a career-high with seven points on four goals and three assists. In addition to her game-winning goal in overtime, Perrotta assisted on freshman
Abby Hormes' goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime.
