HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse team hosts Jacksonville on Saturday at noon in Vert Stadium in a key Southern Conference clash.

The Panthers fell to 1-1 in SoCon action with a 15-12 setback at Richmond on Saturday while the Dolphins are 2-0 after besting Bellarmine 9-5. Saturday's contest will be JU's first conference road contest of the 2018 campaign.

Quick Hitters
• Freshman Asher Nolting is six points away from tying Matt Thistle for the most single-season points by a freshman in program history entering Saturday's contest with 36. Thistle had 42 in '13 during HPU's first D-I season.

• Senior Connor Robinson ranks eighth in the nation in goals per game (3.13/game). The highest goals per game average in HPU history belongs to Dan Lomas who tallied 2.80 goals per game as a sophomore in 2014. No player in SoCon history has ever averaged 3.00 goals per game.

• Nolting is posting 2.13 assists per game, which ranks 19th in the country and second among freshmen. The single-season SoCon record for assists per game was set by HPU's Michael LeClair's 1.73 average in 2015.

• Nolting and Robinson rank first and second in the SoCon in points per game. Sacred Heart is the only other team in the nation to have its league's top two scorers.

• Saturday matches the two highest scoring offenses in the Southern Conference with Jacksonville averaging 11.38 goals while High Point is registering 10.75 per outing.

• Robinson has been named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week the last two weeks. This past week, the attackman tallied five goals - a career high - and added an assist in the contest at Richmond.

• Junior Tim Troutner Jr. is finding his rhythm in the cage posting a .551 save percentage during league play. A week after stopping 11 of the 18 shots Bellarmine put on goal, Troutner posted a season-high 16 saves at Richmond.

• Behind Troutner and senior Zach Tuell, the Panthers are 10th in the nation in saves per game averaging 12.25 stops per contest, which is second in the Southern Conference.

• Senior Terrell Sands needs one caused turnover to tie Dan Lomas for fourth in HPU's history. Along with that, Sands 76 career ground balls ranks 10th.

• Sophomore Davis Sampere third in the SoCon and 17th in the country in ground balls per game with an average of 6.25 after getting 13 total ground balls last year.

• High Point ranks 12th in the nation in ground balls per game after finishing the 2017 season ranked No. 65.

• HPU has scored in double figures each of the last six contests averaging (12.5/game) during that span. That streak ties the 2016 squad for the most consecutive outings with at least 10 goals.

Streaking Into the Record Book
• Nolting has scored at least three points in eight consecutive games to begin his career. His current streak is the longest in HPU history.

• Robinson has tallied a hat trick in six straight games and now has eight for his career. He's scored 22 goals during the streak, which is now the longest in program history.

• Robinson's six-game hat trick streak is the longest active streak in the nation.

• The New Westminster, British Columbia native has scored at least one goal in 13 consecutive games dating back to April 1, 2017 at Mercer.

All-Time Series with Jacksonville
The Panthers are 5-1 all-time against the Dolphins, which includes a 2-0 mark in Vert Stadium. After JU won the first meeting in 2013, High Point has won five straight.

Last Time They Met
