HIGH POINT, N.C.— The High Point University women's lacrosse team (1-0) hosts No. 7 North Carolina (0-1) Friday afternoon (Feb. 16). First draw at Vert Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
Quick Hitters
• High Point is 1-0 on the season after defeating Furman, 17-6, Saturday (Feb. 10) at Vert Stadium. Eight different Panthers scored on the day.
 
• Senior captain Erica Perrotta was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week after causing five turnovers, picking up four ground balls and earning four draw controls against the Paladins.
 
• Erica Perrotta tallied a game-high four goals against Furman, including the 100th of her HPU career.
 
• Sophomore Ashley Britton tied the school single-game record with seven draw controls, while also recording her second-career hat trick.
 
• Senior captain Darla Poulin picked up where she left off in 2017 where she scored 55 goals, tallying three goals against Furman.  
 
On the Tar Heels (0-1)
North Carolina opened the season with a 15-14 double-overtime loss at James Madison on Feb. 10. JMU's Kristen Gaudian scored with 1:26 left in regulation to tie the game and scored again with 1:53 remaining in double overtime to win the game.
 
All-Time Series with UNC
This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools. North Carolina has won the previous five meetings, including 16-6 on Feb. 17, 2017 in the season opener for HPU.
