HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Buffalo Bandits drafted High Point University men's lacrosse alum
Dallas Bridle in the third round of the 2017 National Lacrosse League draft on Monday night.
Â
Bridle, who transferred to High Point after two seasons at Denver, scored 20 goals in his first season with the Panthers in 2016. Those 20 tallies are the most by any HPU midfielder in the program's five-year history.
Â
"We are extremely excited and proud of Dallas for being drafted by the Buffalo Bandits," head coach
Jon Torpey said. "Dallas is a great competitor, loyal and his toughness is unmatched. We look forward to watching Dallas compete once he finishes rehabbing his ACL.Â
Â
As a senior, the Orangeville, Ontario native scored two goals in High Point's second game – a 9-3 win over Georgetown – before missing the rest of 2017 due to injury.
Â
Bridle joins
Dan Lomas as High Point's second representative in the NLL. Lomas, another Canadian, was taken by Rochester in the second round with the 16th overall selection. The lefty finished his rookie season with 15 goals and 23 assists.
Â
Between the NLL and Major League Lacrosse, High Point has now had eight student-athletes make it to the pros.
