MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The High Point University men's golf team wrapped up the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with a 301 to finish sixth in the sixteen-team field.

Brendan MacDougall all fired 75s (+4) over the final 18 holes.

"We are doing a lot of things right and have put ourselves in the hunt going into the final round of every event this spring," head coach
Brady Gregor said. "But its simple; you aren't going to win any event coming from behind when you shoot your highest score in the final round. We have the guys that can do it, but we are half way through the spring now and are still looking for our guys to step up and shoot the under par scores we need to take this team to the next level."

Weary finished the tournament tied for seventh in the field in par-3 scoring and tied for ninth in birdies. Overall, the Bluffton, S.C. product completed the tournament +6 (70, 73, 76) and just two strokes from a top-five finish.

Placing second among the Panthers, MacDougall followed his back-to-back 73s on Monday with a 75 in the final 18 holes to finish tied for 16th (73, 73, 75; +8). Three strokes behind MacDougall, freshman
RJ Bartolomucci shot a +6 on Tuesday and placed in a tie for 24th on the leaderboard (73, 74, 77; +11).

Both of HPU's veterans posted their best rounds in the third round for the Purple & White. Hopkins finished tied for 32nd (75, 77, 75; +14) while Menard placed in a tie for 49th (77, 79, 75; +18).

As a team, High Point shot -5 in par-5's, which tied it for fourth and finished fifth in birdies (31).

The Panthers are back out on the course on March 19-21 at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
