HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's lacrosse team looks to improve to 5-0 in Big South play for the second time in three seasons Wednesday when the Panthers host Liberty inside Vert Stadium.

First draw between the Panthers and Lady Flames is set for 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Big South Network, with live stats available on highpointpanthers.com.

LAST TIME OUT
HPU cruised to a 19-3 win over Gardner-Webb on April 6 inside Vert Stadium. High Point (8-4, 4-0) led 9-1 after the game's first 15 minutes and closed the game on a 4-0 run to cruise to the 16-goal victory. HPU held an impressive 19-4 edge in draw controls for the game and was +17 (29-12) in shots. The Panthers also converted a solid 4-of-6 attempts (.667) from the free position.

FOARD SHIFTING INTO DRIVE
After posting 13 points over HPU's first eight games, senior Allie Foard is rounding into form as conference play heats up. The Big South preseason Offensive Player of the Year has posted 19 points (4.75/game) over the past four contests and ranks t-2nd in the Big South in goals/game in league play (4.00/game). Foard has notched at least five points in three of the past four contests.

PANTHERS TOP-5 NATIONALLY IN CAUSED TURNOVERS
Much of the Panthers' defensive prowess in 2016 has come from the team's ability to generate turnovers by its opponents. HPU ranks fourth nationally in caused turnovers/game (12.67), just two behind national leader, the seventh-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It's truly been a team effort, as four Panthers rank in the top-100 nationally in the category. That quartet includes Christina Del Sesto (26th, 1.83/game), Hayley Norris (44th, 1.60/game), Tori Dunster (72nd, 1.42/game) and Erica Perrotta (72nd, 1.42/game).

HISTORY vs. LIBERTY
High Point and Liberty will meet for the sixth time in women's lacrosse on Wednesday. The Panthers hold a 4-1 edge in the all-time series, including a 2-0 mark inside Vert Stadium. HPU will be looking to avenge a 16-15, overtime loss in Lynchburg last season in which the Panthers led 14-12 with 1:21 to play in regulation.

A LOOK AT THE LADY FLAMES (2-11, 1-3 BIG SOUTH)
Liberty was picked to finish fourth in the 2016 Big South preseason poll, but started the season 1-10. The Lady Flames were without preseason all-conference pick Katy Pridemore for six games during the stretch, but the sophomore is back in action for Wednesday's game. The last three Liberty games have been decided by a goal, with the Flames defeating Longwood (12-11) and losing to Campbell (11-10) and Coastal Carolina (11-10 OT). Freshman attack Kayla Foster leads the Lady Flames in assists (16) and total points (33) while Kallie Britton paces the team in goals (23).

NEXT UP
The Panthers wrap up their 2016 home slate with a senior night contest vs. Radford on Saturday (April 16). First draw between the Panthers and Highlanders is set for 7 p.m.
