HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's lacrosse team continues its challenging non-conference slate at No. 4 Maryland on Saturday at noon in College Park, Md.

The Terrapins (0-0) mark the second top-five foe of the season for the Panthers (0-2). High Point opened the season at No. 3 Duke before hosting Boston University on Tuesday.

Last Time Out
• The Terriers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and then extended the advantage to 6-1 at the end of the first quarter. HPU fought back winning the second period 3-0 to pull within two at half. However, BU scored the first two goals of the third and held on for a 13-10 win in Vert Stadium on Tuesday.

• Junior Michael LeClair tied his career high with four goals while dishing out two assists. The six-point outing was one shy of the program record LeClair shares with Matt Thistle.

• Senior Zack Price had a solid defensive performance equaling his career high with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.

• Senior Dan Lomas joined LeClair with four goals as he added an assist to finish the day with five points.

• Freshman Alex Woodall led the team with seven ground balls while going 12-of-20 at the face-off X.

Three-Headed Attack
• Seniors Dan Lomas and Matt Thistle along with junior Michael LeClair form the nation's eighth-highest scoring returning trio after combining for 152 points in 2015.

• The three have combined for 18 of the squad's 25 points this season.

Active National Leaders
• Senior Dan Lomas is third among active players nationally with 127 career goals. The Burlington, Ontario native also ranks eighth in the nation in career points (143).

• Just ahead of Lomas in career points is senior Matt Thistle with 151 - good for fifth nationally. He's second in assists (82).

• Senior Jamie Piluso leads all active players in face-offs won (520) and ground balls (262).

Scouting the Terrapins
• The Terrapins were originally scheduled to open their season on Feb. 13 against Navy, but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather.

• In 2015, Maryland posted a 15-4 record and advanced to the NCAA National Championship where it lost 10-5 to Denver.

• The squad was picked to finish second in the Big Ten behind Johns Hopkins, who the Terps beat 12-11 in the national semifinals.

• Maryland boasts six players who received preseason All-America recognition from Inside Lacrosse. Senior goalie Kyle Berhlohr was named to the first team while senior Matt Dunn and junior Isaiah Davis-Allen were picked for the second team. Junior Matt Rambo (third team) and senior Pat Young (honorable mention) round out the sextet.

• Behind Bernlohr, Dunn, Young and Davis-Allen, the Terrapins defense posted the top goals-against average in the nation (7.05).

• Junior Jon Garino (63-of-127) and freshman Austin Henningsen figure to see most of the time in the face-off circle replacing All-American Charlie Raffa.
