• High Point carded a 321 in the first round and a 311 in the second to finish day two 10th with a score of 632.
• Freshman Davis Kiger leads the Panthers with a score of 153 to finish the second round tied 33nd.
• Sophomore Emile Menard improved by nine strokes Monday to finish with a combined score of 161 (85-76) to sit in 48th.
• The third around will begin on Tuesday starting at 8:30 a.m.

DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. – The High Point University men's golf team shot a combined 311 on Monday to finish the day in 10th place at the Rees Jones Invitational in Daufuskie Island, South Carolina through 36 holes (632, 321-311). Freshman Davis Kiger is HPU's leader after two rounds with a score of 153 (76-77).
 
"Davis Kiger and Emile Menard both had a remarkable day," head coach Greg Flesher said. "Kiger continued to perform well and is showing his strength on the course. Menard had an outstanding improvement finishing with a top score of 76 today, which improved on yesterday's score by nine strokes. I believe our practice last night paid off well during today's round. We are looking forward to another challenging day tomorrow."
 
Kiger ended the day in a tie for 33nd to lead the Panthers. The Harrison, N.C., native recorded a birdie and 11 pars in the second round. Sophomore Emile Menard has posted four birdies and 17 pars after 36-holes. He has totaled a two-day score of 161 (85-76) and sits alone in 48th place.
 
Freshman Jack Speer ended the second round with a combined score of 156 (77-79) to finish tied for 39th. Senior McKay Tye carded a second round 79 and has totaled 162 (83-79) after 36-holes to sit t-49th. Redshirt-sophomore A.J. Hopkins has posted a total of 165 (85-80) through two rounds and is currently 52nd.

Liberty leads the team standings after two rounds with a total score of 581 (295-286). The Flames lead by two strokes over Charlotte which has carded a score of 583 (294-289). Campbell (587), Furman (596) and Kennesaw State (597) round out the top-5.
 
The Panthers will return to the Rees Jones Invitational for the third and final round on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
