HIGH POINT, N.C. – Behind a program-record 12 points from junior Allie Foard, the High Point University women's lacrosse team (4-7, 2-0) surged past visiting Presbyterian College (3-8, 0-2) by the score of 20-6 on Monday night inside Vert Stadium.

Foard's 12 points set a new single game program record and marked the highest single game point total by any player in the entire nation this season. The Severna Park, Md., native set new career bests in goals (8) and assists (4) while also picking up two ground balls and causing a turnover on the night.

Foard's career night helped HPU outscore the Blue Hose 13-1 over the game's final 30 minutes.

"We started out a little slow tonight but we came out of halftime with a game plan and executed that plan in the second half," head coach Lyndsey Boswell said. "Hopefully we can carry that momentum into this weekend's games. We're really proud of Allie for putting together such an outstanding offensive performance."

HPU held significant advantages in shots (33-9), draw controls (20-8) and caused turnovers (17-8) in the game. High Point's 17 caused turnovers were the most forced by a Panther ball club since HPU caused 18 turnovers against UC Davis on Feb. 29, 2012.

In addition to Foard's impressive performance, junior Emily Meier tied career high in points (5), goals (4) and draw controls (3) while sophomore Samantha Brown added three points on a goal and two assists.

Junior Tori Dunster caused a career-best four turnovers and picked up two ground balls to lead the HPU defensive effort while junior midfielder Leah Pace tallied a career-best six draw controls and scored a second-half goal for the Panthers.

Senior Kendyl Gardner posted three points on two goals and an assist. With her first goal of the game, Gardner became the fifth player in program history to reach the 100-goal milestone.

Foard posted four-straight goals midway through the first half to help HPU jump out to a 6-1 lead at the 16:02 mark of the stanza. Another goal from Foard kept HPU in front by five (7-2), but the Blue Hose posted the final three goals of the first half to trail by two at the break (7-5).

But High Point came out of halftime with a purpose and scored the first five goals of the period to extend the edge seven (12-5) with 23:20 to go in the game. Meier posted four of the five goals during the surge.

After a Presbyterian goal made it 12-6, HPU scored the final eight goals of the game to cruise to the 20-6 victory.

HPU returns to action Friday with a game at Coastal Carolina (6-4, 1-1). First draw is scheduled for 5 p.m.
