HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's lacrosse team returns to Vert Stadium to take on Presbyterian College on Monday evening.

Last time out, High Point opened conference play with a 18-2 win at Gardner-Webb on Saturday afternoon.

A season-high 24 Panthers saw the field on Saturday while 13 student-athletes registered a point on the day. HPU held strong advantages in shots (40-11), shots on goal (32-9) and ground balls (19-14) and was +9 (13-4) in the draw control battle.

Julia Burns starred for the Panthers in goal Saturday, allowing just two goals while making seven saves in a full 60 minutes of action. It marked the fewest goals allowed by Burns in a full game in her career. The two goals allowed by the Panthers marked the fewest given up by the team since a 20-2 win at Campbell on April 15, 2013.

GARDNER APPROACHES 100 CAREER GOALSSenior attack
Kendyl Gardner enters Monday's game fifth on the all-time HPU goals list with 99 career scores. With her first goal against the Blue Hose, Gardner will become the fifth player in High Point history to reach the 100-goal milestone. Gardner also ranks fifth all-time at HPU with 114 career points.

HOME SWEET HOMEHPU has posted a 16-8 record (.667) inside Vert Stadium over the past three seasons. Between Big South regular season and tournament contests, HPU is a combined 10-0 vs. league opponents at home since 2013.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE (3-7, 0-1)Presbyterian was picked to finish seventh in the Big South preseason poll. Last time out, the Blue Hose fell to Winthrop, 16-4, in the team's league opener Saturday in Clinton. Junior Katy Richardson leads the Blue Hose with a team-high 26 points on 20 goals and six assists. Freshman goalkeeper Lee-Ann Salim has played 486:17 minutes this season while posting a 13.94 goals against average and .339 save percentage. The Blue Hose rank third in the conference with 17.60 ground balls per game.

HISTORY vs. PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGEMonday's matchup marks the seventh all-time matchup between High Point and Presbyterian College in women's lacrosse. HPU is a perfect 6-0 against the Blue Hose, including a 3-0 mark inside Vert Stadium. In the most recent meeting between the teams, HPU defeated the Blue Hose 20-3 on April 30, 2014, in Big South Tournament quarterfinal action. Junior
