HIGH POINT, N.C. –
The High Point University women's lacrosse team is back in action Sunday when the Panthers host Campbell inside Vert Stadium.
 
First draw between the Panthers and Camels is scheduled for 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Big South Network, with live stats also available via highpointpanthers.com.
 
Last time out, the Purple & White fell at Coastal Carolina by the score of 15-12 on Sunday in Conway, S.C. HPU trailed by just one (9-8) with 20:06 left in the game, but Coastal Carolina used a 4-0 run over the next seven minutes to build a four-goal cushion (13-9) it would not relinquish.
 
Juniors Kristina Renner and Leah Pace each posted four points on three goals and an assist to lead the Panthers offensively. Pace also picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers in a strong all-around effort. Renner's four-point effort marked a career-high for the East Rochester, N.Y., native.
 
Freshman Erica Perrotta added her first career hat trick while causing a career-best four turnovers. The Roseland, N.J. native also picked up a team-high three draw controls on the day. Juniors Allie Foard and Emily Meier each notched two points (1g, 1a) for the Panthers.
 
PERROTTA'S PITCH PERFECT PLAY
Freshman Erica Perrotta has shined for the Panthers in her first season in the Purple & White. Through 12 games this season, she is tied for third on the team in points (22) and tied for second in goals (17). The freshman also has caused a team-high 16 turnovers and is third on the Panthers with 21 draw controls. In conference play, Perrotta ranks second in the Big South in caused turnovers per game (2.33), is tied for fourth in ground balls/game (2.33) and is tied for 10th in goals/game (2.00).
 
HISTORY vs. CAMPBELL
Sunday's matchup marks the third all-time meeting between the Panthers and Camels. HPU is 2-0 all-time against Campbell, including a 19-5 win last season in Vert Stadium on April 21, 2014. Allie Foard posted four points on three goals and an assist in last year's contest.
 
A LOOK AT THE CAMELS (3-10, 0-3)
Campbell was picked to finish sixth in the 2015 Big South preseason poll. The Camels have dropped their first three Big South contests, including a 21-10 setback vs. Winthrop on Friday. The Camels are led offensively by junior attack Loren Day, who ranks second in the conference in points per game (4.38) and has notched 57 points (42g, 15a) on the year. Junior attack Erica Hitch is third in the league in points per game (4.15) and has posted a team-high 17 assists to go along with 37 goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Merredith Bechler has played all 778:46 in the cage for Campbell this season and has posted a 14.48 goals against average and .375 save percentage.
