HIGH POINT, N.C. –
The High Point University women's lacrosse team renews its rivalry with Davidson College on Sunday inside Vert Stadium.
 
First draw between the Panthers and Wildcats is scheduled for 2 p.m. The teams competed as Big South rivals from 2011-2014 until Davidson joined the Atlantic 10 in 2015.

Last time out, dropped a 16-10 contest to Elon University on Wednesday evening inside Rhodes Stadium. HPU trailed just one (6-5) late in the second half but from there, Elon struck with a 7-0 run over the next 15 minutes of action to take control of the contest.
 
Sophomore Samantha Brown and senior Abby Berrettone each posted two goals for the Panthers, while junior Leah Pace added a goal and an assist while picking up a career-high four ground balls. The Bel Air, Md., native also tied a career high with three caused turnovers and registered two draw controls in a well-rounded effort.
 
Junior Kristina Renner posted a goal and tallied a team-high four draw controls while freshman Erica Perrotta added two points (1g, 1a) and registered a draw control on the night.
 
A TALE OF TWO HALVES
High Point has outscored its opponents, 34-33, in second halves this season but has been victimized by first halves in which the Panthers have a -30 (53-23) goal deficit. The Panthers have won the scoring battle in the second half in 4-of-7 games this season.
 
BURNIN' UP SHOT ATTEMPTS
Through seven games this season, senior goalkeeper Julia Burns ranks second in the nation with 76 saves and is sixth nationally with 10.86 saves per game. The Arnold, Md., native has posted at least 10 saves in 4-of-7 contests and tallied a career-best 15 stops while allowing just six goals in HPU's 10-6 win over Virginia Tech on Feb. 20.
 
HISTORY vs. DAVIDSON
Sunday's meeting will mark the eighth all-time meeting between High Point and Davidson in women's lacrosse. HPU holds a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series, including a 3-0 edge in High Point. Last season, HPU won the regular season meeting, 15-8, at Vert Stadium on April 27 and defeated the Wildcats, 11-6, on May 4 to win the Big South Tournament title. Current senior Kendyl Gardner posted three points (2g, 1a) in the 2014 championship game.
 
A LOOK AT THE WILDCATS (3-2, 0-0 A10)
The Wildcats were picked to finish sixth out of nine teams in the 2015 Atlantic 10 preseason poll. Davidson has won three of its first five games this season, including a home win over Bucknell (11-10) in its most recent outing on March 11. The Wildcats are 0-1 so far on the road this season.
 
Junior attack Lucy Sexton leads Davidson with a team-high 16 goals, while sophomore attack Annie Brockett has chipped in 16 points (14g, 2a). Senior attack Emily Cooke paces the team with 11 assists while senior middie Emily Rademacher has picked up a team-high 17 draw controls. Junior defender Holly Thomas has caused a team-high 11 turnovers, while senior goalkeeper Katy Boyle has allowed 10.37 goals per game and posted a .419 save percentage in 2015.
