Editor's Note: Junior defender James Dunn will provide blog updates about the 2015 High Point University lacrosse team throughout the season. In this entry, the Arnold, Md., native talks about the team's season-opening win over Delaware and how the team is preparing for back-to-back games against top 10 opponents in No. 3 Duke (Feb. 7) and No. 6 North Carolina (Feb. 10).Â

The Path Forward
Â
This past weekend was our home opener and the start of the 2015 season. We had to face a very skilled Delaware team. This was a game that we circled on our calendars for the past year. We have started all three seasons against Delaware and the past two years they have pulled out a win against us.
Â
This year we decided as a team that from January 2nd until game day we were going to do everything humanly possible to be prepared to beat Delaware.
Â
We accomplished our goal with a 15-10 win and the guys on this team deserve it for how hard we've work. We started the season off on the right path, but Delaware is now in the past and this weekend we play Duke, who has won back-to-back National Championships the past two years.
Â
We got a chance our first year as a program to go play Duke at their house, but this year it's our turn to host the game and we couldn't be more excited. Saturday's game will be a true test for our team and will give us guidance in which direction we need to go for the rest of the season.
Â
This week has been a constant sprint to gain as much knowledge on our opponent as we can. We haven't skipped a beat and we plan to continue pushing each other to our maximum potential.
Â
Not only do we get to play Duke this weekend, but three days later we face North Carolina. Two unbelievable programs that will give us the chance to show how far we have come since our first year as a Division 1 program.
Â
Both of these teams gave us a tough time our first year and now we hope we can return the favor. The coaches have done an amazing job preparing us for both of these games and the team can't wait to get after it.Â
Thanks for listening,
