LIVE STATSLIVE VIDEOHIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team travels to Asheville, N.C., to take on UNC Asheville in Big South action on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. The Panthers will try and bounce back from its loss to Liberty over the weekend with a win over the Bulldogs.
High Point dropped to 7-3-4 overall and 2-2-1 in the Big South with the loss at Liberty on Saturday. The Panthers surrendered a goal in the sixth minute and were unable to break down the Flames' defense for an equalizer despite putting six shots on target compared to two for Liberty.
HPU features a balanced offense in 2015 with 10 players combining to score 17 goals. Redshirt-junior

Michele Micciche and
Becca Rolfe are all tied for the team lead with six points through 13 games. Rolfe and Micciche are also tied for the team lead in goals with three each. Sophomores
Taylor Romano and
Meredith Dunker both have three assists this season to pace the Panthers.
The Panther defense has been among the nation's best, allowing just seven goals through 14 games this season. Sophomore keeper
Alex Persiani has appeared in 11 games for High Point and is 4-3-4 with a 0.53 goals-against average. She is tied for the Big South lead with six shutouts on the season, two shy of the HPU Div. I single-season record.
UNC Asheville enters the week having won its last two games with a 1-0 win over Charleston Southern and a 2-1 win over Radford, both at home. The Bulldogs are now 10-4-0 overall and 4-2-0 in the Big South.
Caroline Houser leads the Big South with nine assists this season while also scoring five goals to give her a team-high 19 points on the season, second-most in the conference. Justine James is tops on the team and tied for second in the conference with six goals in 2015. Paige Trent and Courtney Naber also have contributed to the potent Asheville attack with four goals each.
Freshman keeper Lily Brown is the defending Big South Defensive Player of the Week after earning the wins against Charleston Southern and Radford. Brown stopped 10 shots in the shutout of the Buccaneers and five in the win over the Highlanders. For the season, Brown has played in seven games and is 4-2-0 with a 1.13 goals-against average.
High Point is 10-7-3 overall in 20 all-time meetings with UNC Asheville. The Panthers picked up a 2-1 home win over Asheville last season thanks to goals by Dunker and
Jenny Marshall. HPU is undefeated in its last six games against the Bulldogs, going 5-0-1 in that time.
