Sabba Haghgoo was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Big South Conference on Monday afternoon. She was named the winner for the week of August 17-23 after her standout game versus Marshall on August 20.
In the game versus Marshall, Haghgoo captured a milestone three-goal performance, scoring three of the four goals in a 4-0 victory over the Herd. She started her feat with a left-footed goal in the 12th minute of the game before adding her second six minutes later, after the goalkeeper keep left the box. This allowed Haghgoo to take possession and finish into the open net. She finalized the hat trick in the 56th minute, with a sliding shot from a pass in the midfield.
Haghgoo scored four of her five shots on goal against Marshall and tallied eight shots on the week, including three in a 2-2 draw at East Carolina with one being on goal.
The Panthers are set to play N.C. State University at Vert Stadium in High Point, N.C., on Thursday August 27, at 7 p.m.
