Box Score Five Delaware players reached double-figures as High Point blew a second-half lead and dropped a 78-63 decision to the Blue Hens Thursday night at the Millis Center.
The Panthers (3-4) led 36-33 at intermission and stretched it out to 40-33 in the opening minutes of the second half, but Delaware (3-3) roared back to take control. Mike Ames nailed a pair of crucial three-pointers in a 10-second span to ignite Delaware on an 11-0 run which put the Hens ahead for good.
High Point made just nine second-half shots from the field while the Blue Hens were lighting up the nets. Austen Rowland and Ryan Iversen led Delaware with 15 points apiece.
Joe Knight and Dustin Van Weerdhuizen each scored 19 points for the Panthers, who were on the short end of a 43-21 rebounding deficit.
Jay Wallace blocked five shots for the Panthers.
