2010: Set HPU single season records in hits (88) and doubles (25) ... Was named to the All-Big South first team ... Finished the season with a 14-game hit streak ... Hit all eight of his career home runs in his final season ...  Had 71 RBI, the second most in a season at HPU and the most in a Division I season ... Started all 60 games for the Panthers ... In summer ball, played in 35 games for the Wisconsin Woodchucks during summer ball... Hit .321 with 45 hits, which tied for third on the team ... 28 RBI ranked third on team ... Had a .381 on-base percentage.

2007: Played the first 19 games of season, making six starts before an injury ended his season … Hit .290 with six RBI in 31 at bats.

2006: Started 30 of the 45 games he played in … Drew 20 walks in 105 at bats … Scored the winning run after a pinch hit single in the 10th inning of the Panthers 1-0 win vs. Coastal Carolina in the Big South ­Conference Tournament.

Prep: Graduate of Charlotte Christian School … First team All-State and All-Conference selection as a senior … Garnered All-Conference accolades during junior and sophomore campaigns at Hartland High School in Wisconsin … Charlotte Christian squad captured four consecutive state titles.

Personal: Business management major … Son of James and Sue Gantner ... Father played baseball at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and was a second baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1976-92 ... Father is also in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Hall of Fame … Has one brother, Mark, and two sisters, Sarah and Jamie … Born Matthew James Gantner on March 21, 1987 in Hartland, Wisc.
