HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team competes against UNC Greensboro on Thursday, August 13, to start the 2026 campaign.

Aaron McGuiness and staff, add 10 new faces to the Panthers roster after claiming the Big South Conference Championship title a year ago. The locker room consists of a variation of returners and newcomers to make up the 29 student-athletes with a goal to claim back-to-back championships.
Of the 29 players, 17 are returning nine being upperclassman and eight being underclassman. Six of the 10 new faces are freshman which makes the team on the younger side with 15 underclassmen.
"We are excited by the players we have added to our group," McGuiness said. "They have integrated into the squad really well and added some good competition to our returning group."
With the team being on campus for almost a month, they have had the opportunity to create bonds, a strong team culture, and set up for the ultimate goal of getting to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.
On Thursday, the 2026 Panthers get to see the development of the new team in action when they face an out of the conference team.
"Our games with UNCG are always competitive," McGuiness said. "It's a healthy rivalry and will be a good first hit out for us."
