HPU Women's Golf Announces 2026-27 Schedule

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The reigning Big South Conference champions have solidified the 2026-27 schedule as announced by High Point University Women's Golf Head Coach Lyndsey Hunnell on Sunday afternoon.

"This year's schedule is the strongest I've put together since being at High Point University, and I'm eager to see what opportunities it presents," Hunnell said. "Competing in five Power 4 events will challenge us and expose our team to some of the best competition in the country. It's exciting to see the respect our program has earned over the past few years. As we've continued to elevate our level of play, we've started receiving invitations to bigger events. That's a testament to what this team has built and the direction our program is headed. We believe this year's group has the talent, depth, and work ethic to take another step forward, so it was important that our schedule reflected that. Our goal is to continue elevating this program, and playing against elite fields is a big part of that process."

For the third straight year, High Point opens its season competing in the Golfweek Fall Challenge at the Caledonia Fish and Golf Club on September 6-8 in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The Panthers travel to the Palmetto State for back-to-back tournaments for the second consecutive year as the Big South Champs head to Greenville for Furman University's Lady Paladin Invitational on September 18-20.

After beginning the season in South Carolina, the Panthers head north to Indiana for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic at The Warren Golf Club on September 26-27. HPU was invited to another Power 4 Tournament in Tennessee's Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate, which is hosted at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville on October 4-6. This will be the Panthers' first time playing at Notre Dame and Tennessee's hosted events.

Next, the Panthers cap the fall slate where they started it back in South Carolina. On October 19-20, HPU will compete at the Edisto Island Invitational in Charleston on the Plantation Course at Edisto.

For the third year in a row, HPU will jumpstart its spring at The Citadel's Oyster Shuck Match Play on February 8-9 for the Panthers' lone February tournament. Playing in three March events, HPU begins in Charleston back at a tournament the Panthers won a season ago, the Daniel Island Invitational on March 1-2.

The Panthers finish March with back-to-back Power 4 events with their first appearance at the Florida State Match Up on March 20-21, which is played at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club. HPU then heads back to the Peach State for the second straight year to play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by the University of Georgia, on March 27-29 at the Bulldogs' home course.

Before conference play, HPU plays in its third straight Power 4 tournament and fifth of 2026-27 when the Panthers trek north for the third year in a row to compete at the Terrapin Invitational, hosted by the University of Maryland, on April 11-12.

The Panthers then head back to Fripp Island, South Carolina, with a chance to repeat as Big South Conference Champions after winning the program's first title last season. The championship is being held on April 18-21 at the Fripp Island Golf Resort's Ocean Creek Course as the top four teams after three rounds of stroke play will advance to match play with a chance to be crowned champions. The winner and top individual will advance to the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals.
