HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University women's golfer
Anais Arafi earned medalist honors at the Swiss PGA Tour's Memorial Olivier Barras Women's Amateur Thursday afternoon to qualify for the DP World Tour Tournament in Switzerland.
Arafi, a native of Birsfelden, Switzerland, carded the tournament's lowest round (66) en route to a 2-under-par 211 performance, which also placed her 10th in the Omega Masters Qualifier (men and women combined), at the Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierre.
"This competition gives me confidence for the future," Arafi said, "and I'm looking forward to being back with the team next season and doing my best."
The rising junior was a vital piece in helping the Panthers win their first Big South Conference championship in program history for a team spot at the NCAA Regional. Arafi won a 22-hole playoff to secure the title and now is continuing her success this summer in her home country.
