FRISCO, Texas — The High Point University women's golf team had a program-record tying five student-athletes named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar, which was announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.

Of 1,151 women's golfers honored, HPU matched its most since 2024 as Eva Lye, Makayla Grubb, Anais Arafi, Savannah Cherry and Ella Perna all earned the prestigious honor.

It's the third year in a row where HPU had four or more women's golfers named a WGCA All-American Scholar. Perna earns her third All-American Scholar accolade as Arafi and Cherry are awarded with their second straight. The freshman duo of Grubb and Lye are honored with their first as Panthers.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players.

To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
