Olivia Trice Named HPU Women's Basketball Assistant Coach

HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University Women's Basketball Head Coach Wyatt Foust has hired Olivia Trice as an Assistant Coach to his inaugural staff, which was announced on Thursday morning.

"Coming from a family that is basketball royalty, Coach Trice knows what it takes to compete and win at the highest level," Foust said. "She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the staff along with strong recruiting ties to a women's basketball hotbed of talent. Her family first values will help build our culture and establish a strong presence in our first year."

Trice comes to HPU after a season serving as a Wright State Assistant Coach and Director of Operations in 2025-26.

"It's truly a blessing to be able to join Coach Foust and the staff at High Point University," Trice said. "I'm excited to continue to build on the success that not only this program has had but the success that Coach Foust brings. It will be an amazing time at a University that sets its student-athletes up for life beyond college."

A native of Huber Heights, Ohio, Trice brings five years of NCAA Division I playing experience to the staff, spending two seasons at Bowling Green State (2019–21) and three seasons at Florida International University (2021–24). She appeared in 139 career games with 43 starts, and is known for her consistency, three-point shooting, and leadership on and off the court.

Trice averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game during her final collegiate season while earning Conference USA All-Academic Team honors. She tallied a career-high 21 points against Jacksonville and shot 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in a standout performance against UTEP. Her college career also included a WNIT run with Bowling Green and multiple double-digit scoring performances across both programs.

A Dayton-area native, Trice played high school basketball at Wayne High School under her father, longtime head coach Travis Trice, and was a three-time All-Greater Western Ohio Conference selection.

Basketball runs deep in the Trice family—her father, Travis Trice, currently serves as Associate Head Coach for the Wright State men's basketball team, while her older brothers, Travis and D'Mitrik, each had standout collegiate careers and have gone on to play professionally.

Trice earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Communication and Media Studies from FIU in 2023, followed by a master's degree in mass communications in 2024.
