HIGH POINT, N.C. – The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were announced on Tuesday afternoon. Four players from the High Point University baseball team were named to the list including Jake McCarter, Frank Kelly, Jack Carey, Lane Allen, and Wade Walton.
 
The award recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
McCarter, the Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year, started in all 56 games he appeared in. He posted a .263 batting average with eight doubles, two triples and 15 homeruns. In left field he recorded a .989 fielding percentage with87 putouts. McCarter finished the year with a 3.98 GPA in finance.
 
Kelly started in 54 of the 57 games appeared in at second base for the Panthers. He registered a .319 batting average with 15 doubles and three homeruns. At second base he recorded a .963 fielding percentage with 97 putouts. In the classroom he boasted a 3.99 GPA in business administration throughout the year.
 
Carey pitched in 19 games with one start during the 2026 season. He finished the season with a 4-1 record while posting a 3.32 ERA. In his 38.0 innings pitched he recorded 19 strikeouts. Carey finished the year with a 3.90 GPA in business administration.
 
Allen started in 56 of the 57 games appeared in as the right fielder. He posted a .290 batting average after hitting 12 doubles, a team-leading three triples and seven homeruns. In the field Allen recorded a .992 fielding percentage with only one error and 115 putouts. Allen finished the year with a 3.72 GPA in exercise science.
 
Walton, HPU's weekend starting pitcher, started for the Panthers in 15 games. He registered a 4.21 ERA in 77.0 innings pitched with 78 strikeouts. In the classroom Walton finished the year with a 3.51 GPA in sports media.
 
Kelly and Allen will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members for the CSC Academic All-America®. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 23, 2026.
