CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the first time during the indoor track and field season, the High Point University women's team swept the Big South Athletes of the Week awards after competing at the 6th Annual Brant Tolsma meet.
Brianna Malone was named the Track Athlete of the Week,
Zamesha Myle was named the Field Athlete of the Week and
Kendall Hicks was named the Freshman of the Week. All three Panthers earned their second weekly award this season as Hicks was named the Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
Malone competed in her second meet of the indoor season and raced in the 800m and the Mile. She placed sixth in the women's 800m with a 2:08.71 time and placed seventh in the women's one mile with a time of 4:38.99.
Myle placed first in the women's triple jump with an impressive mark of 12.95m. This was her second meet this season taking home first-place. She also participated in the 4x400m relay.
Hicks competed in the women's 60m and 200m events. In the 60m she clocked a 7.71 and in the 200m she clocked a 25.38 time for 16th place overall in a competitive field. Hicks recorded her second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor after completing her fourth meet of the season.
High Point will compete in the Doc Hale Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech and the Camel City Invite at JDL Fastrack on February 6-7.Â
