LYNCHBURG, Va. – The High Point University Women's Track and Field team traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia to compete at the 6th Annual Brant Tolsma on Thursday and Friday.
"Great experience today for our kids to be in an invite only meet with some of the best teams in the ACC, along with NAU," Head Coach
Mike Esposito stated. "Brianna mixed it up very well with some of the best distance women in the country. Zamesha dominated the triple jump, and Ashlyn continues to mix it up with the best in the shotput. We need to get all of our women firing on the same day. I am confident with the staff that we have and the quality of kids we have, this will come together as we move forward."
In the women's triple jump, Zamesha Myle placed first with an impressive jump of 12.95m. In the women's pole vault, Grady Moyer finished in second place with a height of 3.79m.
In the throwing events, Ashlyn Giles placed second in the women's shot put throwing a distance of 5.84m. Giles also set a personal best of 16.84m during the women's weight throw, finishing in sixth place.
On the track, Quiana Williams qualified for the women's 60m finals and finished seventh with a time of 7.71. In the women's 200m, three Panthers placed in the top 20 in a competitive field. Dae'Nitra Hester placed 13th, Williams placed 15th and Kendall Hicks placed 16th.
In the distance events, Danielle Jensen and Alyssa Hendrix represented the Panthers in the women's 3000m, Hendrix and Jensen recorded personal best times of 9:30.81 and 9:47.28, respectively.
Brianna Malone finished in sixth place in the women's 800m, and placed seventh in the women's one mile with a time of 4:38.

High Point will compete in the Doc Hale Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech and the Camel City Invite at JDL Fastrack on February 6-7.
