HIGH POINT, N.C. - Jaleesa Lawrence, the former Big South Tournament MVP has signed a contract to play professional basketball for the Grasshopper Club in Zurich, Switzerland. Lawrence becomes the first Pro Panther to sign a professional contract under Head Coach Chelsea Banbury. GC Zurich compete in the NLB Women league which is the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Switzerland.  

"I'm so excited for Jaleesa on signing her pro contract," Banbury said. "She is definitely ready for it and is going to make a great impact on that team. She came in in for one year and was a huge part of what we were able to accomplish. I have no doubt that she will make her mark in Switzerland!"

During her time in the Purple & White, Lawrence started in all 33 games, averaging 10.1 points per game. She led the team in field goals (127) with a .490 FG%. In the 33 games played, Lawrence tallied 18 games where she scored at least 10 points. She recorded a season-high 20 points, and eight rebounds at Charleston Southern (Feb.19), before registering a combined 38 points in the Big South Tournament. 

On the defensive side of the ball, she placed second on the team and sixth in the Big South with 67 steals, and averaged 5.4 rebounds per game. 

Lawrence capped off her final season of college basketball with a Big South Tournament MVP honor, being named to the Big South All-Academic Team, and a spot on the Big South Second Team All-Conference.
