HPU Men's Basketball Picks Up Four Players From Transfer Portal

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The 2024-25 High Point University men's basketball historic season may have concluded but the Panthers are turning the page to next season and utilizing the transfer portal. Since it opened on March 24, 2025, High Point picked up four new transfers to add to the 2025-26 roster for next season.
 
Rob Martin | 5-10 Guard | St. Louis, MO | SEMO
 
Martin joins the Panthers after spending the past two seasons at Southeastern Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  Over two seasons, Martin appeared in 55 games with 52 starts. The junior point guard averaged 13.4 points per game, 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds during his time as a Redhawk. As a whole, Martin shot 44.2% (276-625), from the field, 41.4% (77-186) from the three-point line and 85.3% (110-129) from the free throw line. In 2024-25, he led the team with 14.8 points per game and scored 20+ points in seven games with a career-high 31 points at SIUE (Feb. 27, 2025) after going 13-for-19 from the field (68.4%). He led the Ohio Valley Conference in assist rate last season with a 2.63 ratio while averaging 4.7 assists per game. Martin was a First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference Selection following the 2024-25 regular season and helped lead SEMO to its second most wins in its programs division history with 21.
 
Jaydon Young | 6-4 Guard | Goldsboro, N.C. | Virginia Tech
 
Young returns home to North Carolina after spending his first two seasons of college basketball at Virginia Tech. Out of high school, Young was a four-star recruit and top 10 player in the 2023 North Carolina high school class, playing just down the road at the Greensboro Day School. Across his two seasons at Virginia Tech, he appeared in 58 games, with 10 starts during the 2024-25 season. After playing in minimal minutes his freshman season, Young averaged 17.8 minutes and 8.1 points per game during his sophomore season. He dropped a career-high 27 points, knocking down a career-high five 3-pointers against Miami on Feb. 22, 2025. In the final six games of the ACC season, Young averaged 16.3 points per game, notably scoring his career-high 27 points against Miami and 26 points against Syracuse.
 
Cam'Ron Fletcher | 6-7 Guard | St. Louis, MO | Xavier
 
Fletcher comes to High Point after making stops at Kentucky, Florida State and most recently Xavier. Throughout Fletcher's collegiate career he has wavered various injuries resulting in multiple setbacks. Fletcher transferred to Florida State after one season at Kentucky and in his first season (2021-22) with the Seminoles he played in 29 games and averaged 16.3 minutes, 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He reached double figures in nine games with a season-high 17 points against Clemson (Feb. 15, 2022). In the 2022-23 season, he appeared in the first 10 games, starting in nine before experiencing a season ending injury. Over the 10 games, Fletcher averaged 10.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals and scored a career-high 23 points against Mercer (Nov. 21, 2022). Fletcher battled another season ending injury just 364 days apart from his previous injury. He appeared in the first seven games of the 2023-24 season and averaged 6.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in his 15.9 minutes of playing time. While at Xavier, he appeared in 11 games for the Musketeers. Out of high school, Fletcher was rated as the 37th best prospect in the nation as a high school senior by Rivals and was ranked 59th in the final 2019 ranking by ESPN.com.
 
Scotty Washington | 6-4 guard | Del Amo, Calif. | Cal State Northridge
 
Washington played three seasons at California Baptist University before transferring to Cal State Northridge. Over his four seasons in college, he has appeared in 94 games with 53 starts. During the 2024-25 season, he averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He scored a career-high 29 points versus Cal Poly (Feb. 15, 2025) and has posted 12 games scoring over 20 points in the last two seasons. Washington helped lead CSUN to its most wins in its programs division I history with 22 wins. Following the season, he was named a Big West Conference All-Conference honorable mention selection in the Big West's highest rated Kenpom season in history (2024-25).
