ANDORRA LA VELLA, Andorra. – Owen Aquino, a recent player on the 2025-26 High Point University men's basketball team has signed with the Morabanc Andorra professional basketball team in Spain. He will join the league for the 2026-27 season as a small forward.
Aquino finished his collegiate career at HPU after helping guide the Panthers to their second straight Big South Regular-Season and Tournament titles with a trip to March Madness. High Point made history with its first-ever NCAA Tournament win with an upset over No. 5 Wisconsin as Aquino contributed 11 points in the victory. As a forward, Aquino played a major role in the Panthers' success during the 2025-26 season, averaging 9.3 points per game on 54.3% shooting from the field. He scored a season-high 18 points against Charleston Southern while posting 18 games in doubles figures throughout the season. As a post player, he averaged 5.8 rebounds per game and led the team in blocks with 60, registering a season-high five against USC Upstate. Adding to his stats he contributed 87 assists and 41 steals. Following the regular-season, Aquino was named to the Big South Second Team All-Conference.
Though based in Andorra, the club plays in the Spanish basketball league system and is the top division of Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB and the Champions League with home games played at the Poliesportiu d'Andorra.
