CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the second consecutive week and third time overall, High Point University's
Lukas Kamrath has earned a Big South Conference weekly honor as he is named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this fall while being named Big South Offensive Player of the Week seven days ago, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Kamrath scored his third goal of the season and anchored High Point's eighth shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over Winthrop. The Tampa, Fla., native extended the lead to 4-0 with a goal in the 55th minute and helped limit the Eagles to five total shots and just two on target. He played 66 minutes as the Panthers capped a perfect 7-0 Big South season with a combined 22-1 goal differential.
Kamrath leads the team with his third weekly accolade as
Prosper Adagani,
Daniel Lugo and
Josh Caron won two apiece while
Brendan Krueger and
Mo Guettel were honored once each.
The Panthers are the top seed heading into the Big South Tournament and will host the #4/5 winner of UNC Asheville and USC Upstate on Sunday, November 9 at 6 p.m.
