The Carolina Cup, a Premier Spring College Soccer Event, Set to Return in 2026

As founding members of the Carolina Cup, High Point University will host a pair of games in the Furniture City in the 2026 edition

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer program will once again play host to one of the nation's premier spring college soccer events as The Carolina Cup returns in 2026, culminating with the finals on Sunday, April 12, in Winston-Salem at Wake Forest University's Spry Stadium. High Point ended the 2026 season ranked No. 16 in the final United Soccer Coaches poll and as the longest continuously ranked team among Carolina Cup teams. The Panthers are coming off a 2025 Sweet Sixteen appearance along with rival UNCG, who was the only team to beat HPU in the regular season.

The spring competition will feature 10 programs from across the region, including Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, NC State, UNC Wilmington, UNC Greensboro, Campbell, South Carolina, High Point and Virginia Tech.
Each program will compete in a five-match spring slate, consisting of two home matches, two away matches and one neutral-site contest at Wake Forest, leading up to the final event at Spry Soccer Stadium. Kickoff times for group-stage matches will be determined by the home team.

High Point's Spring Slate
The Panthers will play at Campbell in the first Carolina Cup match on March 14 followed by their second match a week later at Duke on March 21. In a Holden Trent Community Cup doubleheader on March 28, the Carolina Core will open the competition with a MLS Next Pro match against Inter Miami CF II at Truist Stadium before High Point faces North Carolina. The Panthers host England's Sixteen93 FC in a International Friendly on April 1, and then wrap the Carolina Cup slate by welcoming UNC Greensboro to Vert Stadium on April 4.
