HIGH POINT, N.C – After a stellar performance at the Panorama Farms Invitational, the High Point University women's cross country team has been ranked 14th in the Southeast Regional rankings. This is the Panthers' first time being ranked this season and just ahead of the Big South Conference tournament.
The Panthers rank ahead of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the regional ranking and jumped over the likes of ACC talent Virginia Tech and the Colonial's William & Mary. High Point sits just behind Elon University, the University of Louisville, and Furman University.
Junior Brianna Malone has led the team throughout the season with many impressive performances and a personal best 6k time of 20.21.2 at the Paul Short run. Olivia Purdy has been a standout freshman this fall, taking the conference by storm.
Look out for the Panthers as they head to the conference meet on Halloween in Farmville, Va.
