HIGH POINT, N.C. - High Point University's
Callie Scheier has been named a Big South Conference nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year, alongside eight other Big South student-athletes, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Scheier, a human relations major, served on the NCAA Women's Basketball Engagement Committee in 2023-24, and was also selected for the WBCA's annual "So You Want To Be A Coach Program" at this past year's Final Four in Cleveland. Scheier also supported the High Point community with her involvement in the Feral Cat Assistance Program, served on High Point's SAACÂ (Student Athlete Advisory Committee), and participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters.

A five-year High Point Women's Basketball student-athlete, graduated with a B.A. in Human Relations and a minor in athletic coaching and leadership with a 3.90 GPA. On the court, Scheier played in a total of 131 games, draining 182 three-pointers and finishing with 826 career points. This summer, Scheier was named the HPU Women's Basketball Director of Player Development.Â

As a Panther, she was not only the SAAC President but also a three-time Big South Conference Academic Team honoree as well as being named to the 2023 Division One-AAA ADA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team. As a six-time High Point University Millis Scholar-Athlete award winner, she was also a three-time Big South Conference Commissioner's Award winner. She topped off all her success at HPU with being named the 2024 High Point University Service-Learning Student of the Year.

The Big South will announce the Woman of the Year winner on Monday, August 5.
