HIGH POINT, N.C. - The High Point University baseball team was selected to the Clemson, S.C. regional as announced on Monday afternoon by ESPN 2. The Panthers will be in a regional bracket with Clemson, Coastal Carolina, and Vanderbilt.
Head Coach Joey Hammond: "We are excited about it. Wherever it was going to be, we knew it would be an exciting experience. We are going to go into it with open arms and open minds and go compete. A really cool and special moment for these guys. Not just the experience we are about to have, but the experience we just had. Having a watch party was really special. It is one of the steps we talked about in the beginning of the year and to be able to check that box is really important. It's time to get to work and head down to Clemson."
High Point wil be making its first appearance in program history in the NCAA tournament as they will face No. 6 Clemson University on Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. This will be the fourth match up with the Tigers as the Panthers are seeking their first victory.
