HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season in style behind a 21-8 win over Longwood for the Panthers' seventh straight victory.
HPU had 10 different goal scorers as four scored three goals or more, while the defense was electric as the Panthers forced more turnovers (19) than the Lancers had shots (17).

Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell: "Last game at home for the regular season and I'm just so proud of being able to get everybody on the field and give everybody a look. I feel like our prep going into tonight was strong and we had a lot of buy-in with our defensive unit and we were able to create a lot of offense out of the defense and turn those into goals."
It was a close game until it wasn't. After
Allie Connally scored her first of fourth with 2:36 remaining in the first quarter to go up 5-4, the Panthers never lost the lead.
HPU went on a 17-4 run, including a 9-0 spurt that saw
Jordan Miles secure a hat trick. Miles netted four goals in the first half alone, while securing her first three-assist career game in the second half for her first seven-point game.
The junior attacker was joined by three teammates who posted five-point nights in
Shannon Smith,
Reese Dowgiallo and Connally. Dowgiallo netted her first career hat trick, while Smith scored her second in as many games. The sophomore duo also dished out two assists alike
Mary Sosebee, who had a career-high three points with a goal and two assists plus two caused turnovers.
Mandy Brockamp posted a season-high four-point night behind a goal and three assists. The junior also caused a team-high three turnovers.
Aryss Lindsey forced two turnovers and had two ground balls, while freshman
Julia Dustin had a career-high four ground balls.
Esprit Cha also added two goals, while
Kay Rosselli,
Mackie Scheib, and
Pia Cavallaro each added one. Cavallaro and Connally led the Panthers with four draw controls apiece.
Goalies
Joy Coffey and
Ava Welsh combined to limit the Lancers to four goals over the final three periods. Coffey had four saves while Welsh had two.
Up Next: The Panthers head to the Big South Championships, which begins next Friday, May 3 in Macon, Ga. The full bracket will be released early next week.
