HPU Enters Final Regular Season Tournament

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University women's golf team travels to its final regular season tournament at the Golfweek Caledonia on Monday morning.

HPU Head Coach Lyndsey Hunnell: "I'm excited for this event. I went my last two years when I was at Campbell and it's a fun course to play. It's very scoreable and a good replicant of what our conference course will be like at Fripp. The girls have been working hard these last few weeks to gear up for conference. We've been working on course management strategies and new routines to help their mental games. I'm intrigued to see how they do with these new mindsets going into this event."

Golfweek is the perfect opportunity for the Panthers to prepare for the Big South Conference Tournament as a few Big South teams will be in attendance. Anna Howerton, a freshman, spoke about the preparation it takes to be successful at the end of the season.

"We have worked hard this season to prepare for conference," Howerton said. "Especially focusing on match play the past few months. The next few weeks will be demanding, just with the number of rounds we will be playing but when we all play to the best of our ability, success is in our future."

Howerton will hold the one spot in the lineup at Golfweek. Ella Perna is second in the lineup followed by Maddie Hensley, Julia McLaughlin, and Danielle Suh rounds out the lineup. Ana-Elena Kusters will also be attending as an individual.
