Box Score 2 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The High Point University baseball team traveled up the road to Wake Forest University for a doubleheader at the Demon Deacons home field. The Panthers first battled the Terriers of Wofford College but came up short 11-3 before taking on the No. 2 ranked Demon Deacons, falling in the end 15-0.

In game one of the day, the Terriers scored six runs off five hits in the first inning to take a 6-0 lead.
The Panthers struggled to find the gaps in the field at the plate through the first four innings only landing two hits, one from
Adam Stuart and another from
Cole Singsank. High Point managed to hold Wofford scoreless and hitless after the Terriers big inning in the first.
In the bottom of the fifth, Wofford added a single run to make it 7-0 with a home run over left field.
Stuart started things off for the Panthers in the top of the seventh with a single run homer over the left field fence, tagging his fifth on the season. After a single up the middle from
Trenton Pallas,
Brayden Simpson rocked his third home run of the year over right center field, earning his first two-run shot on the season. Simpson's two-run homer cut the game to 7-3.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Terriers first scored off a failed pick-off attempt at second base, allowing the runner to make it home. A single through the left side gap scored two more runs before a double off the wall scored Wofford's third run of the inning to make it 11-3.
The Panthers could only register one hit in the final inning, falling 11-3 to the Terriers.
In game two, High Point had a tough start in the field as the Demon Deacons took a 7-0 lead in the first inning after hitting just three hits.
High Point registered four hits through five innings as
Cael Chatham went 2-for-2, and
Brett Ahalt and Stuart each added one. The Demon Deacons added runs in four out of the five innings including two home runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Wake Forest tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth, extending their lead, 15-0. Getting the double play to end the inning, the Panthers had one more opportunity to try to score a run. Only earning one hit in the top of the seventh, the game ended in a run rule decision.
