About the Blue Devils
Duke is 6-7 on the year with big wins against Navy and Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils fell just short Saturday, 16-12, against the Virginia Cavaliers. A team of notably high caliber—four Blue Devil players were selected to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All America team. Duke's all-time draw control record holder Maddie Jenner was named to the first team, Cubby Biscardi and Olivia Carner were placed on the third team and Katie DeSimone made the Honorable Mention. DeSimone leads the team with 56 points already this season off of 41 goals and 15 assists. Senior attacker Caroline Debellis is second in points with 29. On the defensive end, Biscardi has accumulated 24 caused turnovers, 20 draw controls and 12 ground balls. In Kimel's 25 seasons at the helm of Duke women's lacrosse, she has guided the Blue Devils to seven national semifinals, four ACC regular season titles, an ACC Tournament Championship and 19 NCAA Tournament appearances.
