HIGH POINT, N.C. – The 14
th annual VertKlasse Meeting began at High Point University on Friday as several Panther women posted personal bests at their home facility.
 
 
In field event action, 
Grady Moyer finished the pole vault with a new personal best mark of 3.62m to finish eighth in the B group event. 
Kylie Skie (3.32m) and 
Emma Grace (3.17m) also competed on Friday, finishing 15
th and 17
th, respectively. In the B group field of the women's high jump, 
Ebba Ahman finished 12
th and 
Marissa Blakely was 15
th, both clearing 1.49m.
 
 
Senior 
Tessa Webb started running events off with a win in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, shattering her previous best by 28 seconds with a time of 11:02.50. Her time ranks 24
th in the East region, and also moves her to ninth on HPU's all-time bests list in the event.
 
 
Fellow senior 
Olive Allen followed up with a fourth-place finish in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:26.39 (47
th in the East) while 
Lindsey Ickes was ninth in 4:36.81. 
Nikki Frail and 
Katie Taylor set new personal bests, each by 12 seconds. Frail was 11
th in 4:38.04 while Taylor was 14
th in 4:40.28. Other finishers in the 132-runner event included 
Camryn Harper (18
th, 4:43.49), 
Madeline Quinn (37
th, 4:52.19), 
Juliana Higgins (56
th, 4:58.95), 
Lauren Buckminster (71
st, 5:04.45),

Ickes also won the 5,000m run in day one action, crossing the finish line in 17:03.16 in her first meet at Vert Stadium this season. 
Alyssa Deeds was fifth in 17:36.50, a near-16-second personal best while Taylor was seventh in 17:45.09. 
Anna Ritter was eighth in 17:55.91 to round out the first day for the Panther women.
 
 
Up Next: The High Point University women are back tomorrow morning to compete in day two of the VertKlasse Meeting. Both participation running events and all field events will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The final heats of running events will begin at 2:45 p.m. with the ESPN+ broadcast going live at 2:40 p.m.
