HIGH POINT, N.C. - The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were announced on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. High Point University track and field had eight athletes selected to the Academic All-District® teams, including Alyssa Hendrix, Sydney Horn, Brianna Malone, Rachel Vesper, Auriane Viola, Alex Constantinou, Shaun Thomas, and Cole Wilson.
 
CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Alyssa Hendrix | Graduate Student | Riverview, Fla. | Distance | MBA | 3.97 GPA
 

• Broke the 3000m Steeplechase record at the Penn Relays with a 10:09.64 time.
• Qualified for the NCAA East First Rounds in the 3000m Steeplechase and placed 26th with a 10:21.20 time.
• Won the Big South Indoor 3000m and 5000m events.

 
Sydney Horn | Graduate Student | Lancaster, Pa. | Pole Vault | Master's in Special Education | 4.0

• Big South Female Field Athlete of the Year.
• Big South Most Outstanding Performer.
• NCAA First Team All-American, placed 7th at NCAA Indoor Championships.
• Won the indoor Big South pole vault title.
• Holds the HPU and Big South indoor (4.57m) and outdoor (4.46m) pole vault records.
• Qualified for NCAA East First Rounds, placed second to advance to NCAA Outdoor Championships.
• Earned Second Team All-American honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships, Placed 10th.

 
Brianna Malone | Sophomore | Barrington, N.H. | Distance | Actuarial Science | 4.0

• Big South Indoor and Outdoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
• Big South Female Track Athlete of the Year.
• Won the Big South Outdoor 800m and 1500m events.
• Won the Big South Indoor 800m and Mile events.
• Set the program record in the 1000m (2:47.82), Mile (4:35.62) and the 3000m (9:09.58) during the 2025 indoor season.
• Set the program records in the 1500m (4:11.37) and 800m (2:05.34) during the outdoor season.
• Helped the 4x800m team set a program record (8:44.14) during the outdoor season.
• Qualified for the NCAA East First Rounds in the1500m and placed 14th at NCAA East Regional (Jacksonville, Fla.), 4:11.37 (Program/Conference record).

 
Rachel Vesper | Graduate Student | Maryville, Tenn. | Pole Vault | Double Major in English & Biology | 3.87 GPA

• Won the Big South Outdoor Pole Vault, cleared 4.32m
• Qualified for NCAA East First Rounds.

 
Auriane Viola | Graduate Student | Schiltigheim, France | Pole Vault | Master's in Communication and Business Leadership | 3.85 GPA

• Placed third at the Big South Outdoor Championships, cleared 4.12m.
• Qualified for NCAA East First Rounds and finished 17th.

 
Alex Constantinou | Junior | Medford, N.J. | High Jump | Finance | 3.71 GPA

• Big South Indoor and Outdoor High Jump Champion.
• Set the HPU Outdoor Record Clearing 2.15m at the Raleigh Relays.
• Qualified for NCAA East First Rounds, placed 37th with a 2.05 clear.

Shaun Thomas | Sophomore | Pinehurst, N.C. | High Jump | Accounting | 3.67 GPA

• Placed third at Big South Indoor Championships
• Set the HPU Outdoor record clearing 2.15m at the Raleigh Relays.
• Runner-up at the Big South Outdoor Championships.
• Qualified for the NCAA East First Rounds, placed 14th with a 2.10m clear.

Cole Wilson | Senior | Burgessville, ON, Canada | Combined Events | Exercise Science | 3.58 GPA

• Big South Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
• Big South Heptathlon and Decathlon Champion.
• Broke Big South and HPU Decathlon record with 7,662 points.
• First HPU heptathlon athlete to qualify for NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
• Earned Second Team All-American Honors at both Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
