HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University Track & Field finished in third place on the women's side in the debut of the Meet of Champions at Vert Stadium. One of the highlights for the Panther women this weekend was
Hannah Brookover who set a personal best and Vert Stadium facility record in the 1500m run with a time of 4:24.40. The time broke a record which had stood since 2018 set by Hannah Segrave of Great Britain of 4:26.55.
Ashley Jones also set a personal best time of 4:29.74 and finished in third place in the event. Brookover also won the 800m run with a time of 2:09.05 to edge out fellow Panther
Camryn Harper who finished second in the event with a time of 2:09.32.
Another highlight for the Panthers was
Alicia Dawson who won the women's long jump with a mark of 6.22m, currently ranked 12th in the NCAA East Region. Dawson's mark just had an illegal wind, which prevented it from breaking the school record. Finally, freshman
