WINSTON-SALEM, N.C./ CLEMSON, S.C. –  The High Point University Women's Track and Field team participated in the Asics Sound Running Invite in Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday. Other members of the Track and Field team participated in the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson University.

In the women's mile, Brianna Malone crushed it breaking the Big South and program record with a time of 4:34.86 for sixth place. In the women's 5000m, Alyssa Hendrix set a new school record and personal best with a time of 16:19.15 to place sixth.

In the throwing events, Ashlyn Giles won shot put with a distance of 15.15m and finished in first place in the women's weight throw, throwing 15.96m. Jill Stroup finished in second in the women's weight throw with a throw of 14.68m. Vanessa Kobialka placed fifth in the women's shot put with a distance of 12.27m. 

In the women's pole vault, the Panthers represented well, having three Panthers finish in the top five. Emily Romano finished in second place with a height of 3.95m, Lily Houston also registered a height of 3.95m. Grady Moyer placed fourth with a height of 3.80m. Kaitlyn Greene participated in the women's long jump, jumping a distance of 5.13m, good for fifth place. 

On the track, Quiana Williams finished fourth in the women's 60m with a time of 7.68 seconds, Kendall Hicks also represented the Panthers well with a time of 7.75 seconds. Williams and Hicks also represented the Panthers in the women's seeded 200m both recording top ten finishes. 

In the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson, Zamesha Myle finished fifth in the women's triple jump, recording a distance of 12.90m.

UP NEXT: High Point will compete in the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va. and the College Last Chance meet in Winston-Salem, N.C. on February 21.
