Panther Notes
Last Time Out
High Point lost its first midweek game of the season with an 8-7 loss to Triad-neighbor Elon on Tuesday (April 6). Joe Johnson and Evan Bergman were the only Panthers with multiple hits in the game, with Johnson ripping three extra-base hits in four at bats, including a home run.

Magic Johnson
Johnson was High Point's leader offensively on Tuesday and had one of the best HPU performances this season. All three of his hits were leadoff extra-base hits, including a double to the gap on either side of center and then a solo home run - his team-leading fifth of the season - over the wall in right-center in the seventh.

Yo Pearre, You Wanna Come Out Here?
Brady Pearre had another of the Panthers' top performances this season in the first game at Charleston Southern last weekend, going 4-4 with two walks. The four hits are a career-high and he also drove in two runs, including his third home run of the season, and came around to score three times in the game.

Not so Lyttle
Grey Lyttle finds himself second in the Big South in total strikeouts after seven starts with 51 on the season, including a season-high nine against Asheville. Lyttle is averaging 11.77 Strikeouts Per Nine Innings, which is the best in the Big South.

Seeing Double
Johnson has hit 11 doubles this season to lead the Big South and sit fourth in the nation.

Going Yard
High Point has gone deep four times in its last five games for a total of 15 on the season. Four different members of the Purple and White have hit the home runs, with the long balls coming from Johnson, Pearre, Peyton Carr, and Ryan Russell.

WHIP it Real Good
HPU is second in the Big South in WHIP entering Friday, allowing 1.42 walks and hits each inning pitched, second only to USC Upstate. Lyttle continues to lead the Panthers in WHIP with a mark of 1.05, also second-best in the conference.

Getting Offensive
High Point has put up 28 runs in its last four games and sits fourth in the Big South in total hits with 204 on the year.

Going Streaking
Cole Singsank and Blake Sutton have both reached base in their last seven games for the longest active streak on the Panthers. Carr is right behind them at six games of reaching base safely and currently has HPU's longest active hitting streak of five games.

Debutant Ball
Ohjiro Motoki made his season debut against Elon on Tuesday, racking up a game-high three strikeouts and surrendering no hits in two innings of action.

Limiting the Hitting
The Panthers only give up 8.13 hits per nine innings, the second-best mark in the Big South and 69th in the nation. High Point has held opponents to five or fewer hits and has allowed double digits five times each this season.

Making the Sacrifice
High Point has hit 15 sacrifice flies this year, the second-most in the Big South and 18th-most in the country. Individually, Carr has hit three, the most in the conference and 48th in the country.

Up Next: High Point has its first home game of April on Tuesday (April 13) with a rematch against Elon in Williard Stadium at 6 p.m.
