The High Point University baseball team (5-7) returns home to host Virginia Tech (7-3) on Tuesday afternoon (March 3) at Williard Stadium. The game is the start of an eight-game homestand for the Panthers, lasting until March 15.

Matchup History
- Tuesday is the 16th meeting between High Point and Virginia Tech, with the Hokies holding a 12-2-1 advantage over the Panthers.
- VT is on a seven-game winning streak against the Purple and White, with HPU's last win in the series coming on March 12, 2003.

Panther Notes
- High Point played in the Keith LeClair Classic this past weekend, playing No. 13 Ole Miss, Indiana, and No. 17 East Carolina.
- Junior Travis Holt recorded a hit in each game of the classic, extending his hitting streak to six games. He now has 20 on the year, good for 22nd in the country.
- Holt had two hits in the game against Ole Miss on Friday (Feb. 28), one of three Panthers to record multiple hits on the Rebels' pitching staff. Also recording multiple hits were Evan Bergman and Cole Singsank as part of an eight-hit effort from HPU to out-hit Ole Miss.
- Holt and Singsank both enter Tuesday's game with hitting streaks of five games or more. Holt's resides at six games while Singsank has recorded a hit in five straight games. Right behind them is Joe Johnson, riding a four-game hitting streak, his second such streak of the season.
- High Point's pitching staff has recorded 120 strikeouts on the year to lead the Big South and sit tied for 40th in the country.
- The Panthers have turned 10 double plays this season, second in the conference and tied for 26th in D1.

- Virginia Tech is 7-3 on the season has won its last five games.
