The High Point University women's basketball team (10-11, 8-4 Big South) heads back on the road for one of its three remaining road games of the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 8) as the Panthers travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on USC Upstate (7-14, 2-10 Big South) at 2 p.m. The Panthers have won their last two and have gone 8-2 to start the new calendar year.

Matchup History
- This is just the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools with High Point holding a 4-1 advantage in the first five.
- None of the five games have been particularly close, each being decided by 10 points or more.
- Upstate won the first meeting back in 1990 but HPU has won the last four, most recently beating the Spartans by 39, 85-46, on Jan 4 this year in the Purple and White's largest margin of victory this season.

Panther Notes
- High Point defeated Hampton at home on Tuesday (Feb. 4) to sweep the season series with the Lady Pirates and improve to 5-0 at home against Big South opponents this season.
- True freshman Amaria McNear and redshirt freshman Courtney Meadows each had career games, scoring 16 and 15 points, respectively, for career-highs.
- Skyler Curran notched her fourth double-double of the season in the win, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The sophomore scored all of her points from behind the arc, on a career-high seven triples.
- Senior Camryn Brown added to her list of accolades from the past week, headlining the NCAA's Starting Five of the week, as announced on Wednesday (Feb. 5).
- Tuesday's win kept the Panthers undefeated in conference play at home, one of only two schools, along with Campbell, yet to lose a conference game in front of a home crowd.
- Already breaking the season records for three-point makes and attempts, the Panthers continue to set the bar higher each game. HPU has made 221 shots on 701 attempts from behind the arc this season, putting High Point third in the country in both categories.

Across the Bench
- USC Upstate currently sits 10th in the conference standings at 2-10, with an overall record of 7-14 on the year.
- The Spartans almost pulled off the biggest upset of the year in the Big South last week, taking conference-leading Campbell to the brink in double overtime, ultimately falling by eight.
- Brianna Lewis is the only Spartan to average double-digit points per game, scoring an average of 14.3 PPG. She's also second in the conference in assists, dishing out an average of 5.4 helpers each contest.
- Riley Popplewell leads Upstate in rebounding and sits fourth in the conference, bringing down an average of 7.5 boards per game.
- The Spartans have two players in the top-10 of the Big South in blocks, Barrett Herring and Quadijah Moore. Herring is third with an average of 1.7 blocks per game while Moore is sixth with an average of 1.1 BPG
