- Abby Hormes was selected to the Tewaaraton 2020 watch list. She is the second woman in program history to ever receive this recognition. She joins Erica Perrotta, who was chosen in 2018
- With her goal last game vs UNC, Ashley Britton extended her goal streak to 31. The streak dates back to the third game of her sophomore season.
- Against Mercer, freshman attacker Jenna Harms gathered four ground balls. This is the most by a freshman field player in a season opener in High Point University history.
- In HPU's home opener junior Nicole Pugh tied a career high in goals with three. The most recent instance coming last season against Winthrop.
- Abby Hormes is just four goals away from moving into second place all time in Panther history. She currently sits at 125, just below former HPU standout Mackenzie Carroll who scored 129 in her career.
- Seniors Ashley Britton and Meredith Chapman earned Big South honors in the seasons opening week. Britton was named Offensive Player of the Week after a five-goal effort, while Chapman was selected as Defensive Player of the Week after causing four turnovers and earning four draw controls.
- HPU's season opening victory gave goalkeeper Sarah Zeto the 16th win of her career, giving her sole possession of fourth all time in program history. She passed former Panther Lauren Hayes.
- Abby Hormes caused a career-high six turnovers against Mercer, it also puts her in a four-way tie for second most in a single game.
- The 2020 season will begin Lyndsey Boswell's tenth season at head coach for the Panthers. Entering the weekend HPU is 124-51 under Coach Boswell's direction, including three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and three straight Big South regular season and tournament championships.
Across the Bench
- James Madison is led by 14th year head coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe. In her tenure with the Dukes, Klaes-Bawcombe is the all-time winningest coach in JMU lacrosse, leading the program to a National Championship in 2018.
- The Dukes were victorious in their last outing, defeating Uconn at home 11-8. JMU is 2-1 on the season after losing to North Carolina and picking up wins against Virginia Tech and the aforementioned Huskies.
- James Madison is led by senior attacker Logan Brennan, who has a team-high eight points this season. Brennan scored twice and added an assist in JMU's last game.
