HIGH POINT, N.C. - No. 6 High Point University baseball returns to the Big South Championship Tournament for a 14th consecutive year this week, facing off with No. 9 UNC Asheville in Fayetteville, N.C., this Tuesday at 4 PM.
The Panthers reached as far as the tournament finals in 2018, falling 7-5 to top-seeded Campbell in the championship final. The Camels once again represent the top spot in the conference, finishing the Big South season with a record of 19-7.Â
HPU's Tuesday competition will be a single-elimination game, with a victory securing a 9 AM Wednesday morning matchup with No. 3 Winthrop. The Panthers are 2-2 against the Eagles in the Big South Tournament all-time, and have competed in the conference bracket a total of 16 times before 2019.
