HIGH POINT, N.C.—The No. 25 High Point University women's lacrosse team plays at Winthrop in the regular season finale Saturday (April 20). First draw from Rock Hill, S.C., is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
With a win, HPU (12-4, 5-0 Big South) would clinch the No. 1 seed and host the Big South Tournament at Vert Stadium April 26-28.
Last time out, the Panthers defeated former Big South foe Liberty, 14-9, on Wednesday (April 17) at Vert Stadium. Sophomore
Sarah Zeto made 13 saves, including five in the last 10 minutes to preserve the win.
Senior
Allie Little tallied a career-high seven points on three goals and four assists, while fellow senior
Valerie Pelling added a goal and three assists. Senior
Samantha Herman recorded her 100th-career point and had two goals and an assist, while sophomore
Rachel Foster and freshman
Mena Loescher each had two goals.
Redshirt junior
Meredith Chapman caused five turnovers and now has 41 for the season, which is tied for the HPU single-season record with

Sophomore
Abby Hormes is five points away from 150 career points and is two goals shy of fifth-place all-time at HPU (
Samantha Brown had 111 from 2014-17). Hormes leads the Panthers and the Big South with 79 points, which is eighth in the nation. Chapman is 10th in the nation in caused turnovers with 41.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be 11th all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Panthers leading the series, 7-3. HPU has won the last three games, including the last matchup in the Big South Conference Tournament, 18-7, at Vert Stadium on May 6, 2018.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
Winthrop enters this contest with a 7-9 overall record and a 4-1 record in Big South play. The Eagles' last matchup was a 16-14 win against Radford in Rock Hill, S.C., on Wednesday (April 17). Lauren Morris leads Winthrop with 65 points, 41 goals and 24 assists.
