HIGH POINT, N.C. - High Point University baseball will hope to continue its recent midweek success this Tuesday, hosting nearby Elon University at Williard Stadium at 4 PM.
A former Big South member, Elon currently holds a 25-19 advantage over the Panthers in the pair's all-time series, but has fallen to HPU in four of their previous six meetings. The Phoenix are yet to win a game outside the weekend in 2019, while High Point holds a 2-1 record in the midweek, riding back-to-back victories over NC Central and North Carolina A&T. This Tuesday's matchup will pit one of the most patient offensive sides in the country against one of the most strike-efficient pitching staffs in Division I. With just 2.81 BB/9 this year, the Panther arms currently rank 18th overall, while the Phoenix' 64 drawn walks sit in 23rd.Â
With 299 wins, Head Coach
Craig Cozart sits a single victory shy of the 300 for his career. In his 11th year at the Panther helm, Cozart has collected 295 wins at HPU, in addition to the four he earned as an interim coach at his alma mater UCF.Â
