The High Point University women's basketball team (1-2) travels to our nation's capital this week for a contest at American University (1-1) on Monday evening (Nov. 18) at 7 p.m. The Panthers are looking for their first road win of the season and are coming off their first victory of the year after beating East Tennessee State on Thursday night (Nov. 14) at the Millis Center.

- This is the fourth meeting between High Point and American, with HPU holding a 2-1 advantage in the series.
- American won the first contest between the two in 2009, with the Panthers tying the series a year later. The two squads met last year, with HPU coming away with a home victory, 66-61.

- High Point picked up its first win of the year last time out, beating ETSU 80-62 giving head coach Chelsea Banbury the first win of her career.
- Senior Camryn Brown made a career-high seven three-pointers in the win, tying the school's record for most in a single game.
- Classmate Miya Bull notched her second double-double in a row, recording 10 points and 13 rebounds.
- Redshirt sophomore Zaria Wright had a career night on her birthday, scoring 15 points, 12 of which came in the second half.
- The Panthers broke their record for three-point attempts in a game for the second time this season, attempting 42 in the win and making 16, the second-most in a game in program history. They've taken 119 triples this year, the third-most in the country heading into the weekend.

Across the Bench
- American is 1-1 on the year, losing to Ohio to open the season before beating Villanova at home Thursday night.
- Three Eagles average double-digit points through the first two games, led by sophomore Jade Edwards averaging 19.5 PPG.
- Also scoring in double digits are classmate Emily Fisher with 18.5 and senior Kaitlyn Marenyi with 15.0.
- Edwards also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.5 RPG while Fisher leads the distribution for the Eagles with an average of 6.5 assists per game.
- American is led by head coach Megan Gebbia, in her seventh season as head coach. She has a career record of 118-77 heading into Monday's game and has been named the Patriot League Coach of the Year twice.
